A smooth clay which is good for general purpose use, such as small thrown pieces and handbuilding. Cone firing results in a buff color in oxidation.
This is a good, general purpose clay that works well for all forming methods. Specks generally bleed into glazes. 60 mesh sand gives a medium texture. When fired to Cone 5, the oxidation color is gray/buff.
By combining equal amounts of white stoneware and porcelain, Half and Half is a very throwable white body that is off-white in oxidation.
B-Mix 5 offers the same characteristics enjoyed by our Cone 10 B-Mix. Its smooth, porcelain texture is a pleasure to throw and form, and it fires to a cream color in oxidation.

The price of commercial clay just increased by about 21%. So we are happy to offer reclaimed clay to our community of makers for the same price that our other clays were before the price increase! This is a mix of our four studio clays—it’s always a little different, but count on a lighter color with some speckles. When you use reclaimed clay, you help reduce the environmental impact of your ceramics practice and you save a little money, too!
