Ceramics Studio Manager

The Ceramics Studio Manager oversees daily operations in our busy pottery studio, including ceramics instruction, staff supervision, community engagement, inventory management, and more. The position is for an experienced ceramicist who is available up to 20 hours per week, including nights and weekends, and who is interested in future growth within the organization.

Required Qualifications include, (but are not limited to):

  • Ceramics Expertise: Strong knowledge of ceramic techniques, materials, and equipment.

  • Instructional Background: History of teaching ceramics to adults.

  • Management Experience: Background in studio or facilities management.

Private Event Lead

The private event lead is the main point of contact, and in most cases the instructor, for private pottery wheel and hand building events that are held at Mud Lily. Responsibilities include working with interested potential customers to schedule and book their event, conducting a fun pottery experience (not a detailed class in how to do ceramics), and managing completed pieces until they are ready to be bisque fired.

Required qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • Availability during Mud Lily’s non-public hours (times when the studio is usually closed).

  • Ability to demonstrate how to throw a cylinder from 1lb of clay on the wheel and how to make a 1-lb pinch pot.

In this role, an outgoing, friendly demeanor, patience, and the ability to “hold space” for participants is much more important than deep knowledge of ceramics.

Compensation: Flat rate per event + commission
